May's 'Love Me Beauty' Review

Beauty subscription boxes, they're everywhere. There's something really exciting about a monthly parcel arriving at your door filled with beauty treats, and so many brands are now getting involved that it's a great way to trial new and different products and brands to those you would normally buy. Now, as much as I love the element of surprise and not knowing what I'm going to receive every month, it can often be a bit of a lottery as to whether you will actually like or want any of the pre picked products. The average monthly subscription costs around £10, and although the products inside the box always tend to exceed this, sometimes they're not what you would pick, nor will use.

Step forward Love Me Beauty*- the beauty subscription service with a difference. Unlike other's on the market, LMB allows you to cherry pick the products you want to receive each month, and although this takes away the element of surprise, it does mean that you only receive products that you actually want to try.

Love Me Beauty has a credit system- each month you get 60 credits, and these can be used against any of the products on the website. All are trial size, and 'cost' between 10 and 20 credits. Plus, you can add on additional credits at an extra cost, if needed. The beauty edit changes regularly, and contains brands such as Benefit, Charlotte Tilbury, Nuxe and Eco Tools, to name a few.

I love to mix up my skincare routine, so for May's box I chose 3 products from French brand Nuxe, and 1 piece of makeup from Manna Kadar Cosmetics, a brand I've heard a lot about but haven't tried. Even better, all 4 products came in the cutest slogan makeup bag which now has a permanent residence in my handbag!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Gold 10ml (10 Credits)
This nourishing oil contains tiny golden particles which when applied to the skin, give it the most gorgeous subtle shimmer. It's a multi use product that looks amazing on the legs, arms and decolletage (especially with a tan), and if you are going for a natural sun kissed makeup look, it looks great on the cheekbones as well. It's a dry oil so doesn't give a 'greasy' finish, and amazingly it can also be used in the hair to add shine, volume and a hint of shimmer. The dinky bottle is the perfect size to throw into your holiday makeup bag as it takes up no space at all, plus you only need a tiny amount at a time so I'm sure this would last throughout the whole holiday.

Nuxe Gentle Exfoliating Gel With Rose Petals 15 ml (10 Credits)
Exfoliating is a key part of my skincare routine and I try to do it at least once a week, especially if I am applying fake tan. For my body, I use Skinny Tan's Pre Tan Primer which contains tiny particles of walnut shell, but when it comes to my face I like to use a gentler product. I've been using Nuxe's for a few weeks now, and what I love about it is that it has a gel formulation which helps the particles glide over the skin, buffing away any dead skin cells without irritating my face at all. The addition of rose petals means it smells absolutely gorgeous, and my skin is left feeling soft, smooth and glowing.

Luxe Reve De Miel Cleanser 15ml (10 Credits)
The third and final product from Nuxe I chose this month was their 'Luxe Reve De Miel' (translation- honey dream) cleanser. I know it's a skincare no no, but I'm forever removing my makeup with cleansing wipes, then finishing with a cleanser, so the fact that this removes makeup and cleanses in one really appealed to me. It's really gentle on the skin thanks to its honey and sunflower extracts, and unlike a lot of cleansers I've used in the past, it doesn't make the eyes or skin sting.

Manna Kadar Beauty Liplock Stain in 'Rosette Poppy Pink' 1.5g (20 Credits)
As mentioned earlier, I'd heard a lot about Manna Kadar Cosmetics but had never tried any of the products, so I was intrigued and excited to try this lipstain. Named after its founder, the brand originated in Paris just over 5 years ago, and its philosophy is 'less is more'- they love a multi use product and this liplock stain is proof- it's a primer, stain and a gloss in one. I went for the colour 'Rosette Poppy Pink' which is a muted pink, and it gives my naturally red lips a hint of colour without being too full on. Being a stain and gloss in one, it has great staying power but doesn't dry the lips out which is a real plus, and Rosette Poppy Pink is a great everyday shade.
