Beauty | Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick & Perfume Review

Now I have to start this post with a disclaimer, and a shocking one at that. The products I am featuring it today's post are the first Charlotte Tilbury ones I have ever owned. Yes, I know, for a beauty blogger this absolutely unbelievable, but as much as I have a CT wish list as long as my arm, I have never got round to buying any of her products and I am ashamed to admit it. Somehow, I have managed to resist the beautiful packaging, and much hyped products up until now, but now I am officially in the club and own Nude Kate from the Hot Lips lipstick collection, and Scent of a Dream, which is quite possibly the dreamiest (excuse the pun) fragrance EVER.

The Tilbury lipstick range is formed of three ranges- K.I.S.S.I.N.G, Matte Revolution, and the aforementioned Hot Lips, and although each offers a different finish, all are encased in Charlotte's signature rose gold case, and each lipstick is embossed with a pair of lips.

Nude Kate is inspired by Miss Moss herself, and is a gorgeous yellow toned nude which has a sheer, yet buildable, finish. It has a creamy texture and is super hydrating thanks to its orchid extracts, which for someone like me who often has to choose lip balm over lipstick thanks to my dry lips, is amazing. One of the things I love about this lipstick, it the unusual square topped shape of it- it seems to fit my lip size really well, and you can actually line the lips first by using the corner, before filling them in. Nude Kate is the perfect 'everyday nude,' thanks to its sheer tone and neutral shade, but it would also look great teamed with heavy eye makeup. I've been carrying it in my handbag for those quick touch ups, as it offers a hint of colour (I'm not a lover of bold lip for daytime) as well as moisturising my lips.

I definitely did not need any more perfumes in my collection, but Scent of Dream is not like any others I already have, and I have been wearing it non stop since I got it. The name and bottle seem almost magical, and the smell is absolutely beautiful and so unusual- so many fragrances these days are very similar to one another, but this really is unlike any others I've come across. The glass ridged bottle has a pointed removable lid and rose gold nozzle and branding, and it is quite possibly the prettiest bottle to have ever graced my dressing table- it is what I would imagine a fairytale potion to look like!

Charlotte claims to have created a 'one of a kind' fragrance with Scent of a Dream, which attracts love, light, power, positivity and sex (!) to the wearer- a bold statement indeed! It has a positive top note aura which develops over 15 minutes and boosts confidence, as well as base notes that are activated by body heat. Add to this intoxicating floral extracts which resonate over 5 hours, and you really do have a unique fragrance which lingers all day long.

All of the CT lipsticks retail for £24, and Scent of a Dream starts at £49 for a 30ml bottle. You can buy them all online, in Charlotte's flagship stores in London Covent Garden and Westfield White City, or in selected department stores nationwide.
