Makeup | The Concealer Edit

Concealers. A real makeup bag essential and a 'holy grail' product. Whether is spots, discolouration or darkness, concealer has it covered, so to speak. I've dabbled in a lot of different concealers over the years (what can I say- I was a spotty teenager)- from high street to high end- and I think I can now officially say I have favourites. With that in mind, today's post is all about my top concealer picks, what they are best for, and why I love them.

At first glance, you may be mistaken for thinking that this little beauty is the iconic Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent, but it is infact a total dupe, by Boots Seventeen. With the same clickable end and brush as YSL's, but at a fifth of the price, it's definately become a makeup bag essential of mine. It comes in 2 shades, light and medium, and both are pink toned so perfect for counteracting those under eye blue circles that I am all too familiar with.
Best for: Value for money

Another concealer I love that is a bit of a dupe is this Maybelline offering, which is very similar to Nars' Radiant Creamy Concealer. It's Maybelline's first gel concealer, and contains no waxes or fillers, meaning it gives a natural, dewy, fresh finish without looking cakey at all. Fragrance free, it is perfect for the delicate skin under your eyes, but I've also found that works like an absolute dream on facial blemishes as well.
Best for: Buildable coverage

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer- £17.50
I featured this cult concealer in a recent favourites post, and even though it's a new addition to my life, I already love it. It has a very light formulation which is buildabled, and offers full coverage when a couple of layers are applied. I went for a slightly lighter shade than my skin colour, to give a brightening effect, and as well as my under eyes, I apply this down my nose, in the centre of my chin, undeneath my eyebrows and on my cupid's bow.
Best for: Full coverage

Estee Lauder Double Wear Brush on Glow BB Highlighter- £24.50
This multi use product not only conceals, but it brightens and highlights as well, making it a great all rounder for your makeup bag. I find it great on those days when my skin is looking dull and tired as I literally apply it pretty much everywhere and it really gives my skin a boost. The luminous formula is lightweight and contains photo optic technology for the most flawless, dewy finish.
Best for: Multi use

After seeing this award winning concealer used by pretty much every beauty YouTuber out there, I didn't need much convincing to add it to my Sephora basket whilst I was in New York earlier this year. As the name suggests, it offers a creasless finish, and gives complete full coverage. The formula feels fairly thick and almost sticky to the touch, and it's one of those products that you need the tiniest amount of- a little really does go a long way! I dot a tiny amount along my under eye area, then blend in with a damp beauty blender. After dusting a little loose powder over the top, this stays put all day, and doesn't flake, crease or budge.
Best for: Flawless, non creasing coverage

I'm a big fan of the Freedom Pro range, and really rate their products, so was delighted to pick up this concealer palette which has been a god send when it comes to covering all of the blemishes that I have been getting recently. The 6 shade palette contains everything you need to conceal, and all can be used individually or mixed together to find your perfect shade. I find these drag my under eye are slightly, so tend to use them on blemishes and spots only, but I have also recently disovered that the darkest shade is great for contouring the face as well.
Best for: Covering blemishes
