Beauty | October Favourites

The first post of November is dedicated to all of the products that I was loving last month, and features a new skincare addition, some haircare, and as always, some makeup. All of these products have been firm favourites of mine throughout October, plus there are some amazing bargains and dupes included! As always, I would love to hear if you have bought any of these products, and also what you can't live without at the moment.

Primark Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon- Ballerina
I've been wearing this non stop for the past few weeks and it's literally amazing. Being the fan of matte lips that I am, I was overjoyed to discover these lip crayons from Primark's beauty range, and at only £2, you can get 7 for the price of a single Mac lipstick- crazy huh? Unlike a lot of other matte lipsticks (including Mac), the texture is creamy and moisturising and doesn't drag your lips or dry them out which is a major plus. I went for the shade 'Ballerina' which is a nude with a dusky pink edge. Being a crayon, it acts as a liner and lipstick in one- I trace around my lips first of all with the tip of the crayon and then use the side of the crayon to fill them in.

Primark 3 Pack Mini Blender Sponges
Another Primark steal in this month's favourites is this pack of 3 mini blender sponges, which retail for £2. These diddy sponges are everywhere at the moment, and I love them because they are perfect for applying concealer to those awkward areas on the face- under the eyes, around the nose and the chin to name a few, as well as applying cream based eyeshadow and blush. I also use them to contour along the nose as they are the perfect size. I run them under water first of all which makes them swell, then use directly on the face with my desired product. Plus mini things are always more appealing, right?

Vaseline Limited Edition Lulu Guinness Tin
I couldn't resist picking up this limited edition Lulu Guinness Vaseline tin whilst I was in Boots recently. Although I have a million and one other original Vaseline tins I had to buy it- it's is one of those products that can be used for so many things, and I like to have a tin in every handbag so I'm never without it. At £2.99, it's more expensive standard tin, however Lulu is such a cutie (and so Instagrammable) that I didn't mind paying the extra.

Dusty Girls Mineral Blush
I love trying out new makeup brands, and this month it's the turn of Dusty Girls. Inspired by country life, the brand uses natural clay and minerals to create products which enhance natural beauty. I got my hands on their 2 mineral blushers- 'Pink Ladies' which is a soft dusky pink with a slight shimmer, and 'Golden Delicious'- a matte peach toned blush. Highly pigmented, my brush picks up the colour so easily, so I ensure that I tap off any excess before applying to my cheeks. The colour lasts all day, and at £15 they are comparable in price to a Mac blusher, however you get 15g compared to just 6g in a Mac blusher. I'm really keen to try some other products in the range, which includes foundations, eyeshadows and lipsticks, all of which are in the same quirky packaging.

Skin Doctors Instant Facelift
I was so excited to try this product, simply because it sounds like my dream in a bottle! The boldly named 'Instant Facelift' claims to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles by holding the skin taut one dry thanks to it's clever matrix of ingredients. Not only does this help the face look smoother and overall fresher, it also acts as a great makeup primer. I apply a small amount of the serum to my palm, then gently work into the face with my fingertips. For best results, you need to make sure you don't smile or making any other facial movements for 3 minutes until the serum has dried, which is harder than you would expect! My skin instantly feels smoother and my lines definitely look a bit less harsh, plus I do find that my foundation goes on like a dream- this really is a great base for makeup.

KeraStraight Moisture Mist & Root Lift Spray Gel
Always on the hunt for products that will improve the health, look and feel of my thin, lank hair, this month I've been loving these two products from KeraStraight. Both designed to be used on towel dried hair, simply apply the moisture mist all over, and the root lift gel to the roots of the hair, then dry & style as desired. The moisture mist contains heat protection and adds softness to the hair, whilst the root lift spray contains heat activated particles which expand upon drying to give strength, support and hold. The products can be used separately, or in conjunction with one another and retail at £19.50 for the moisture mist and £17 for the root lift spray.

What products have you been loving this month?
