Fragrance | Quite possibly the best perfume dupes...ever

Us ladies all love a good fragrance, and like me, I'm sure most of your have at least one everyday 'signature scent' as well as many more heavier fragrances that you class as 'nighttime' or 'going out' scents. I am guilty of owning quite a few, but always tend to revert back to 2 or 3 of my ultimate favourites. Perfume is something I always put on Christmas and birthday lists- unless I've purchased it in duty free as a 'pre holiday' treat, I always feel quite guilty about buying it for myself as it's so expensive, so I have been known to look for a dupe- particularly for my everyday perfume which tends to run out so quickly.

There are some great dupes out there, with many of our favourite high street stores offering 'smell-a-like' fragrances at a snip of their usual price, and although they may smell similar to popular fragrances, they of course don't advertise what they are a dupe of meaning it can be a bit of a guessing game, and I know I have struggled to find the ones I want.

I recently discovered Perfume Parlour- a UK based website which offer dupes of hundreds of fragrances, and although they claim to have no connection to any designer labels or brands, they smell pretty much identical. The site has a really handy search bar- just put in the name of your desired fragrance and the dupe will come up below it. I bought 2 of their fragrances- the first, named 'Dee- or addict' is a dupe for 'Addict' by Dior and the second 'Lolas' is just like Marc Jacob's Lola. You can buy bottles up to 50ml, and the prices are so reasonable. I bought a 30ml bottle of each and paid just £8 per bottle excluding postage and packaging. Dior Addict is around £50 for 30ml, so this is a huge saving.

The main question though- how much do them smell like the real deal? The Dior dupe was the one I was the most unsure of as it has such a strong and heavy smell, however Perfume Parlour's version smells almost identical. Not only this, I would say it lasts as long- Addict is an Eau De Parfum which I love as the smell lingers all day and night, and I have to say that my cheaper dupe does as well. My Lola dupe smells amazing as well, and although it's slightly different to original, it's a very good smell-a-like, and I think most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two.

So how do Perfume Parlour do it? They use top, middle and base notes which are similar to popular fragrances, and although added in different formulations, the result is pretty darn good. I will definitely buy from them again, however do I think I will now never buy a 'real' fragrance again? In a word, no. Although these dupes are such good value for money, and perfect to chuck in your handbag, you can't beat that feeling of opening and spraying a new bottle of perfume, and then of course you need a pretty bottle now and then for your dressing table!

Have you bought any fragrances from Perfume Parlour?

  4. These look great! I love the Eden Perfumes which are Vegan and have notes like high street/high end scents. My favourite is one which has similar notes to Tom Ford Portofino. x
