Mac Mini Haul | New Makeup Bag Essentials

If you are familiar with my blog you will know that Mac are my favourite makeup brand, and that I am forever expanding my collection whenever I have some spare money. My professional makeup kit is 90% Mac, however when it comes to my personal makeup, I sometimes can't afford to splash out and end up using high street brands. Don't get me wrong, I also have my favourites when it comes to the high street (Makeup Revolution, Kiko and Topshop are some of my faves), but you can't beat adding some new Mac additions to your makeup bag!

Rickys New York | Beauty Buys

A friend of mine, who knows what a beauty obsessive I am, said I HAD TO go to Ricky's whilst I was in New York and I'm so glad I took her advice. Described as a 'ultra-hip and edgy' beauty shop and with stores all over the city, Ricky's offers everything from everyday beauty essentials, right through to high end makeup brands. With my trip being so short, I was only able to spend 20 minutes looking around before heading back to the airport, but I did still manage to pick up a few key pieces...

Farfetch | Style the Shoot: Sunglasses

I'm sure I speak for everyone in the UK when I say that summer needs to hurry itself up. I am so over layers, coats and boots and I am dreaming about sandals, dresses and going out without a jacket on. Looking on the bright side, the start of spring is only a month away, so I decided to dedicate today's post to a gorgeous pair of sunglasses that I have been lusting after for a while. I spotted these Saint Laurent beauties on the Farfetch website; an online store that stocks over 400 boutiques all in one place. I decided to put together a look based around these gorgeous glasses that would be perfect for a British Spring day.

Turning 30 | What I got for my Birthday

So, incase you couldn't tell from the title of this post, I am now in the next phase of my life and am officially a grown up. Yep, 2 weeks ago I turned 30, and if I'm honest it wasn't as traumatic as I thought it would be. Having had the most amazing time in my twenties, I was sad to see the back of them, but I ended up having the most wonderful time. I spent a few days in New York beforehand, landing back in England early on the morning of my birthday, and had such a lovely weekend surrounded by my amazing family and friends. I always feel special on my birthday, but this year in particular I felt even more so. I think perhaps the fact that it is such a milestone birthday meant that everyone went out of their way to make it memorable for me which is so lovely, in fact I feel quite emotional thinking about just how special I felt! Soppiness aside, in addtion to having a wonderful time, I also received some amazing presents which I will be able to keep forever, and I thought I would share them with you. My recent 'real jewellery' post was very well received (you can read it here) so I hope you enjoy this post as well...

Sephora New York | Haul

So after 2 cancelled flights and a 48 hour delay, I finally made it to New York! Yep, turns out the day I was due to fly coincided with the worst storm the East Coast has seen in over 100 years- to say I was slightly annoyed is an understatement! Looking at the positives, however, missing out on 2 days shopping meant I did save some spending money (every cloud, and all that!) After dropping my bags off at the hotel, the first place I headed to was Sephora and I filled my basket with lots of lovely new things...

My 'Real' Jewellery collection | Current Favourites

Despite being someone who has always loved costume jewellery (working on the jewellery buying department for River Island HQ had a bit influence on this), I decided a couple of years ago to build up a little collection of 'real jewellery.' I think growing up and wanting nicer things, paired with the fact that I was fed up of my cheap rings turning my fingers green, made me start looking in the windows of the jewellers that I had previously walked past, and lusting over the lovely things I saw. Now don't get me wrong, unfortunately my jewellery box is not spilling with diamonds, in fact most of the things I own are very affordable, but there is something lovely about having a piece of jewellery that you can keep, particularly if it has sentimental value behind it. For today's post I have picked out my current favourites...
