THE ROSE GOLD EDIT

Today's post is in honour of the be-a-utiful Makeup Revolution Ultra Metals brushes which launched last week. They are complete dupes of the Real Techniques Bold Metals collection, however they only come in rose gold (the RT ones are a mix of silver, rose gold and gold) and the good news is they are half the price!
I am a sucker for a new makeup brush and couldn't wait to snap up a couple of these- I went for the ultra flawless powder brush and flat contour brush, both of which retail at £9.99. The range also offers a foundation brush, eyeshadow brush and a sculpt brush (best used for blusher) and these are stocked on the Makeup Revolution website, as well as in Superdrug stores nationwide.

The brushes themselves are super soft to the touch and they are also really weighty, which in my eyes always makes them seem more expensive. Each brush is embossed with 'Makeup Revolution' branding at the top of the handle which also gives them a premium feel. The powder brush is the perfect size- the handle is fairly short for a powder brush but this is an advantage in my mind as they don't take up as much room in your makeup bag. After I've applied my foundation and concealer, I use it to apply my translucent powder which it picks up with ease. The flat contour brush is perfect if you want to perfect a contoured look- simply run it across your bronzer and tap off any excess powder, then apply under the cheekbones in sweeping motions.

Feeling the rose gold love, I got a little over excited when I spotted this Balmi cube lip balm, in the same gorgeous copper hues as the brushes. The balm is roseberry flavour and contains vitamin E, shea butter and SPF15 for super soft, kissable lips!
Lastly in the rose gold mix is my gorgeous Kiko Milano lipstick in shade #2, Pretty Mauve which I swatched here in my Rebel Romantic haul. Cased in a gorgeous magnetic case which is reminiscent of Charlotte Tilbury's K.I.S.S.I.N.G range, this is one of 6 shades and is a complete steal at £6.90. The lipstick itself is gorgeously creamy and intense in colour, and also will look amazing on your dressing table!

I'd love to hear what you think of my rose gold picks. Have any of you tried the Makeup Revolution brushes yet?

Love, Beth xxx

  5. Gorgeous! I will have to see if the can be sent to the US. I've been lusting after the bold metals collection for a while but I like that these are closer to regular brush length.
