A Beauty Blog...

I am a sucker for a multi use product that will fit into my handbag with ease, so when I came across this palette by my fave high street brand Makeup Revolution, I was instantly sold. Add to that the fact that it's a total dupe of the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette AND only £4, well, you can imagine just how quickly my little legs carried me to the till!

The palette comes in 4 shades and contains a bronzer, highlighter, blusher and a mirror- I went for 'Flush' as the colours looked like they would suit my skin tone the best. The compact itself is super sleek and takes up hardly any room- it's smaller and thinner than an iPhone so would even fit into the back pocket your denim shorts if you were struggling for handbag space. I usually take a full sized bronzer and blusher everywhere with me, so the fact that you get both (plus a highlighter) in one compact is amazing. All you need is a small brush (I love this retractable one from Real Techniques) and you have everything you need for makeup touch ups throughout the day!

The Bronzer...
I already use Ultra Bronze by MUR which I love as it gives a sunkissed rather than an orange glow, and the bronzer in this palette has the same golden undertones. I apply this with a large bronzer brush to the places the sun hits for a natural glow, or under the cheekbones and along the temples, chin and sides of the nose for a contoured look.

The Highlighter...
This pretty highlighter is a lovely warm champagne shade with undertones of pink. Simply dust on the cheekbones, on the cupids bow, along the bridge of the nose and under the eyebrows for a gorgeous 'strobed' finish. I already use the Goddess of Love baked highlighter by MUR as part of my daily makeup routine (read my review here) so this will be perfect for touch ups though out the day, especially when my skin starts to look dull and needs brightening!

The Blusher...
This dusky pink blush has a matte finish and you only need to apply a tiny bit to the apples of your cheeks to create a gorgeous healthy glow. To create a different look, apply a thin layer of the highlighter then dust this over the top- you will get the same pink colour but with a shimmery finish. I personally prefer this as I think it makes the face look less 'flat' however it is great that you can effectively get 2 different blushers from this palette by playing around with it slightly- very versatile indeed.

The texture, pigmentation and staying power of these powders are fabulous,  and I would liken it to a premium brand's product rather than a high street one. The value for money is amazing and I would definitely recommend this, especially if you are going away as it saves so much space. I took it to V festival with me last weekend and it was a makeup savouir, especially when it got to mid afternoon and the girls and I needed to glam it up a bit! Thank you Makeup Revolution from bringing another amazing product into my life!

Have you tried this or any of Makeup Revolution's other palettes? I would love to hear your comments below.

  1. I'm so behind in trying out the Makeup Revolution palettes considering I always read goof things about them! This really does sound like its great value for money and I love the shade of the highlighter. I'll definitely have to give this a swatch next time I'm in Superdrug :) xx

  2. Great post! I have a few MUR products (I love their eye-shadow palettes) and really want to try this iconic palette, but it always seems to be out of stock every time I got to my local superdrug, its so unfair! It must be very popular!! :) xx

    1. Haha, it is obviously a popular one! I'm also desperate to try the protection pallette which has concealers, powder, bronzer and blusher. Thanks so much for you comment x

  3. Love the post as much as I love the brand. I always want to try out this product but its so popular its never in stock so I never get the chance. I also just uploaded a post on revolution if you want to check it out at http://www.intouchwithem.wordpress.com
